link fence installation inquiries, contact Premier Fence

TN chain link
fences are installed by setting posts into the ground and attaching the fence
to them. These posts may be made out of steel tubing, timber or concrete. The
posts can either be driven into the ground or be set into concrete. Posts that
are placed at the end, or the corner, or at the gate are usually known as
“terminal posts” and are normally set into concrete to prevent it from leaning
due to the tension of a stretched fence. The posts set between the terminal
posts are known as the “line posts” and are at intervals that do not exceed 10
feet. The TN chain link fence is attached to one end of the posts, stretched
and attached at the other end, and tied to the line posts with aluminum wire.
When a bottom tension wire is stretched by an installer, it is referred to as a
“coil wire”, and this is done between terminal posts to help minimize the in
and out movement that occurs at the bottom of the TN chain link mesh between
posts. Top horizontal rails can be used on most chain link fences, although it
is not necessary. Intermediate horizontal rails are often added for taller
fences that are 10 feet or more. The bottom wire is normally secured to the
line posts and the chain link mesh "hog ringed" to the tension wire
2' on center.
