The Process of Adding a New Fence in Your Tennessee Yard

Adding a fence into your Tennessee yard is something so many homeowners wait for. Not only do they want to get the most for their money, but they want to contain their piece of land and be able to let their children and pets roam freely within the space they have fenced in. Others may want a fence to block out neighbors or outside noises. Whatever the need for a fence is, it is important to know what to expect when it comes to having it installed in your Tennessee yard.

Fence Installation Process

They will have to come out and mark the areas where the fence is going to be going. This is to get an idea of what you want enclosed, while also speaking with the necessary parties regarding any under the ground wires and lines that might be there. They can then speak with whoever is necessary to obtain the approval.

Once approval has been granted, they can come in and place the holes and poles a certain number of feet apart, depending on the fence panels that you choose to have placed throughout your yard. A large tool will be used to dig the holes, while cement, gravel and sand are used to fill it in for most of the way to hold the poles in.

Once the poles are set, the cement is dried and they are packed in place; adding the fencing panels around the yard can begin. You’ve already chosen what type of fencing material you’d like to go with, and they’ve probably already brought the materials to your home. From there, they just need to be nailed into place to the poles that are already in the ground.

All in all, the entire process should only take a weekend to complete. Sometimes, when it is raining or the weather is bad out, it can delay the process. In addition to this, the approval from the utility companies might also stall the process, making it harder to get started. These approvals are needed before having anything done in the area.

If permits are required for your specific city or town, these can also be obtained from the necessary parties by the contractor doing the work. The most you have to do is let them know what type of fence, and where you'd like the fence to cover.
